EAC Engineering MRA Hub

The EAC Engineering MRA Hub is a regional information platform designed to increase awareness and understanding of engineering professional registration, recognition and mobility within the East African Community (EAC).

The Hub supports engineers, engineering firms, employers, regulators, professional bodies, students and other stakeholders with accessible information on the Engineering Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) and the processes involved in professional recognition across EAC Partner States.

Why the Hub Exists?

Across East Africa, qualified engineers contribute to infrastructure, industry, energy, construction, technology and economic development. However, opportunities for professional mobility can be limited when engineers are not aware of registration requirements, competent authorities and pathways for recognition in other countries.

The EAC Engineering MRA Hub was established to help bridge this information gap.

Our goal is to encourage more qualified engineers to register with their respective national competent authorities, understand the value of professional registration, and become better positioned to pursue professional opportunities across the EAC.

The platform is developed for the EAC Secretariat, with financial support from GIZ-LIFTED – a project jointly co-financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU) and technical support from ESAMI–trapca.
